Another Magic Class graduated yesterday. Always mixed emotions for the kids. They are excited to get their wands but sad to see the class end. But we had a ton of fun as I added a game to play and gave them a graduation present that is pretty cool. (Message me if you would like details on how you can make them yourself for less than a nickel each. You can easily make enough for each class while watching your favorite TV show!)
The only odd thing during this graduation was an older student who had trouble remembering the three rules of magic. As I teach for graduation, start off with a confident student who you are pretty sure knows the rules. This lets the other students hear the rules right before they come up and instills confidence in everyone. Then I bring up the youngest ones who might have trouble so they can sit down, listen and then try again. Well, this older student who I thought would have no trouble was second to last to come up and couldn't name the third rule. Sheesh! Luckily he had one more student he could listen to. So even though I thought everything was running smooth, the system had a hiccup. It is not a big deal but I was surprised by it!
